Under the guise of "market research," I would very much like to know the following:
What is your favorite Broadway soundtrack?
Maybe you've gotten the pleasure of seeing the show, maybe you haven't- I don't care. I just want to know which one you like the best. If you have only seen the movie version of it, that's fine- go for it!
Please tell me!
I'll give you a few musicals to kick start your mind- feel free to stray from this list. Keep in mind these refer to the Broadway version, not the movie version, where applicable.
-Wicked
-The Lion King
-Mary Poppins
-Chicago
-Jersey Boys
-Hairspray
-Cats
-Sweet Charity
-Camelot
-Spamalot
Listen (it's some annoying cartoon someone put together- I couldn't find a video of the song being performed, but it is the song I want you hear) to this great song from Spamalot (sung by David Hyde Pierce) about how to succeed on Broadway while you think about your decision(s).

it's a tie for me between camelot and rent. weird and trendy, i know. but hey, i like what i like.
Hmmm, I like that. Definitely did not see you as a Camelot person!
AHHHHHH!!!!! I have to choose JUST ONE????
I listen to Spamalot the most - I love the songs in Wicked and my old favorite is Fiddler on the Roof or Camelot.
I'm a big fan of Big River, Rent, & The Music Man
Oh! & Avenue Q is pretty brilliant, too.
Wicked
Funny Girl
Annie (it takes me back to my youth)
Cabaret
and my new fav....Spring Awakening

Hey ryan! thanks for stopping by! (everybody loves kick backs to childhood- that's why i'm holding on to my dream of some ruby slippers... MOM)
I won't pretend to be a musical aficionado, but I really like the Wicked soundrack! And I must agree with Mama Flewellen, Fiddler on the Roof holds a dear place in my heart! If I were a rich man...dadeedadeedadeedadeedadeedum...
(Do NOT confuse this with the stupid Gwen Stefani version...blah...how dare she defile that song! Dumb Gwen, with your blonde hair and your brown eyebrows! Ick!)
I love the Les Mis soundtrack the most I think. But then there's Hairspray and Miss Saigon that I like also. And selected pieces from the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
